May 13, 2006 Meeting Minutes

1. Call to order by Fritz, WD8E, at 12:35
2. Welcomed two new members, Kevin Howard, KD8DNO and John Guilkey, KC8CTO
3. Presidents report:
   1. Dayton Hamvention vendor spots have been reported to be low for this years hamfest.
   2. No entries have been received for the Young Ham of the year aware
   3. COOKEN officer election - No new candidate names have been received. Will go with the same officers.
4. Treasurer's report by John, W8NM - We have a $209.00 balance.
5. Committee reports:
   1. Web site update by Mark, K8MTR - A calendar has been added; an application form; and a forum (bulletin board).
   2. Field Day report by John, W8NM - The field day site now has a kids play area next to it that would present a problem with the generator location. Discussed moving FD to another location at OSU Newark. Moved by Eldon, W5UHQ and 2nd by Tom, KC8CSQ. Vote passed.
6. Unfinished Business:
   1. ARES Update - No update available
7. New Business:
   1. Next meeting will be June 10th
   2. Special event station to celebrate the 155th birthday (August 13, 1851) of Johnny Clem, who is from Newark, on Saturday, August 12th.
