Below are the minutes from the 09/09/2006 Cooken Club meeting:

12:00 - 12:30 - Fellowship, discussion and lunch

1. Call to order (Fritz WD8E) - 12:30

2. Welcome and introductions

    Members in attendance: Fritz WD8E, Mark K8MTR, John W8NM and wife Mincha, Steve N8WL, John W8UL, Ralph WD8BBE, John K8CTO and Kevin KD8DNO

    New Members: Scott K8SM and Rocky KI8GE

3. Last meeting minutes (as posted on the web site)

4. President's report (Fritz WD8E)

    A. Dues as per club by-laws are due July 1 of each year. Dues are prorated for members joining after that date.

5. Treasurers report (John W8NM)

    A. As of 9/9/2006, the club balance is $293.00

    B. Bills to be paid

        i. Mark K8MTR - for Website hosting - $85.00

        ii. Fritz WD8E - for special event station certificates - $28.00

    C. New balance after bills paid - $180.00

6. Committee Reports

    A. Website update - Positive feedback from pictures on website.

    Requested changes for nets made.

7. Unfinished business

    A. Results of special event station

        i. 67 contacts - 2 on 17m and 65 on 40m

        ii. Dr. Hook (KD8QA) remarked to the group at the station, "Let's get everyone involved and do it next year!"

    B. Ohio QSO Party

        i. John (W8NM), Fritz (WD8E), Scott (K8SM) and Bob (NR8U)

    C. ARRL VHF Contest

        i. N3FPJ Software

       D. Meeting Location (Group)

            i. Last meeting location was at special event station.

            No formal minutes

    E. Frequencies discussion (Group)

        i. 5th Wednesday -- On months where there is a 5th Wednesday, we usually pick a frequency 1-2 weeks in advance and announce it on the Tuesday night NARA net.

        ii. 1st Wednesday is a 2m FM net on 146.460 MHz Simplex

        iii. 2nd Wednesday 6m net - has been changed to 50.140 USB for a few months. Mark (K8MTR) to update website.

        iv. Jack (K8CTO) indicated an interest in a new net on Saturday or Sunday.

    F. ARES Update (Steve N8WL)

        i. 5 Wednesday NET sessions.

        ii. No meeting with LC-EMA in August

        iii. Have proposed frequencies for EMA radios

        iv. SET test coming up. Will be planning over the next couple of weeks.

        v. John (W8UL) provided information regarding the counties in his ARES district.

        vi. Discussion about Winlink 2000 telpac station that John (W8UL) has on the air.

8. New Business

    A. Group agreed to work on weekend net proposal from Jack (K8CTO)

    B. New members applications completed
