a. Web site update (Mark K8MTR).
i. Mark, K8MTR, indicated a few minor changes to the website – a direct link to meeting minutes from the main page. He also signed up for a no-ads version of the calendar page for $9.95 per year.
7. Unfinished business
a. 40 meter net (Jack K8CTO).
i. Given current band conditions and the sunspot cycle, Jack K8CTO proposed that participants get on the NARA 146.88 repeater to coordinate what frequency to use just prior to the start of each net.
ii. Tom KC8CSQ acknowledged receipt of a radiogram from Oklahoma City and thanked those who passed the traffic.
b. Future Carl Howard special event and traffic handling station (Bob NR8U).
i. Bob NR8U was not present to provide an update. Fritz WD8E indicated the event is on track.
ii. Event will be held on July 21, 2007 from 9am to 5pm local time.
iii. Fritz WD8E proposed that we obtain or make a VHS or DVD loop video about amateur radio.
c. Johnny Clem special event station (Fritz WD8E).
i. Bob NR8U and Fritz WD8E called the historical society to confirm the event.
ii. Event will be held around August 13, 2007...more to come.
8. New business
a. VE secession (John W8NM)
i. John W8NM indicated there are currently 6 interested in new licenses/upgrades.
ii. VE Session to be held at Granville Council Chambers.
b. FD (W8NM)
i. John W8NM indicated Flory Park is currently being considered
ii. We will run as either 3E or 3A plus the GOTA station.
c. COOKEN Winter Challenge (Scott K8SM)
i. Group discussion.
ii. Would be a good event to hold for 2008 to correspond with the Licking County Ohio Bi-centennial.
iii. More to come.
iv. Eldon W5UHQ proposed we create a “Welcome to HF” certificate to any new tech or works the highest Number of contacts—may coincide with the Winter Challenge
d. ARES Update (Steve N8WL)
i. Currently 33 members
ii. NIMS training class on March 12, 2007 at 5pm.
iii. Rod Cook from the Red Cross will be the guest speaker at the NARA meeting tonight.
e. Books donated to the club...
i. We need to decide what to do with the older ham radio books that were donated to the club
ii. Club library? EBAY?
