Here are the meeting minutes from the April 14, 2007 COOKEN Meeting:
1. Call to order (Fritz WD8E) - 12:27
2. Welcome and introductions.
a. Members in attendance: Fritz WD8E, Mark K8MTR, Kevin KD8DNO, John W8NM, Rocky KI8GE, Bob NR8U, Steve N8WL, John N8DFQ, David KB3DAJ, Ralph WD8BBE, John K8CTO and Tony K8FAR
3. Minutes of last meeting as posted on the web (Kevin KD8DNO).

4. President’s report (Fritz WD8E).
a. Elections - Fritz WD8E proposed the following schedule for officer elections:
· May meeting - Present list of candidates
· June meeting - Voting
· July meeting - Elected officers take office
5. Treasurer’s report as posted on the web (John W8NM).
a. Report accepted
6. Committee reports
a. Web site update (Mark K8MTR) - Mark K8MTR indicated that the annual website renewal is coming up in a few months. Agreed to continue current service.
7. Unfinished business
a. Future Carl Howard special event and traffic handling station (Bob NR8U).
i. Bob NR8U indicated WCLT FM (100.3) is going to be at the event to commemorate their 60th anniversary
ii. April 23, 2007 (approx 12:00) will be a meeting w/Marsha and WCLT at “The Works” to discuss the event
iii. Working with the Mayor’s office on a proclamation for the event.
iv. Event will be held 7/16 thru 7/21; 7/21 will be at “The Works”
v. Bob NR8U and Fritz WD8E asked if anyone was interested in having an old radio put on display for about 6 months.
vi. Event is posted in QST.
b. Johnny Clem special event station (Bob NR8U).
i. Bob NR8U indicated the LC Historical Society acknowledged the event for this year at Buckingham House.
ii. Consensus was “Go for it”
iii. Event to be held around 8/13.
iv. Bob NR8U indicated a picture from last year’s event will be published in “Licking County Quarterly”. The picture is of Jack K8CTO operating a radio during the event.
c. FD (John W8NM)
i. John W8NM reported Field Day was to be a topic at tonight’s NARA meeting at 19:00, and more info would be available after the meeting.
ii. John would not be able to attend, so he granted his proxy vote to Kevin KD8DNO for the NARA meeting.
iii. Jack K8CTO added a possible location for consideration next year. Four Church Farm in the Flint Ridge area.
8. New business
a. ARES Update (Steve N8WL)- Steve N8WL provided the following Licking County ARES update:
i. 34 members
ii. Jeff Walker of the LC EMA to speak at NARA meeting at 19:00
iii. Provided a brief update on the March 31 meeting. “Attendance was good and there were a lot of good discussion.”
iv. Talked about Winlink and other presentations given.
9. Announcements
a. Drawing - Ralph WD8BBE was the winner of the World Radio subscription this month.
