Below are the meeting minutes for the July 14, 2007 COOKEN meeting:

 

1.    Call to order (Eldon W5UHQ).

       Bob NR8U (VP) called the meeting to order at 12:05.

 

2.    Welcome (and introductions if a guest or new member attends).

Members in attendance:

   Bob NR8U, Kevin KD8DNO, John W8NM, Fritz WD8E, Mark K8MTR, Tom KC8CSQ, Steve N8WL, Connie WD8ODC, John N8DFQ, David KB3DAJ, Ralph WD8BBE

New Members:

3.    Minutes of last meeting as posted on the web (Kevin KD8DNO).

4.  President's report (Eldon W5UHQ).

       A. Bob NR8U ran meeting in Eldon’s absence.

 

5.  Treasurer's report as posted on the web (John W8NM).

John W8NM reported:

- As of 7/14/07 the club account balance = $206.86

- John W8NM and Fritz WD8E asked for 2 volunteers that are not currently holding officer positions to assist John with an audit of the finances of the club.

 

6   Committee reports

      A.  Web site update (Mark K8MTR).

 

7.  Unfinished business

      A. Carl Howard special event and traffic handling station (Bob NR8U).

      Bob NR8U reported:

          - Presented a sample of the flyer created by “The Works” for the event.

          - Reported there will be vintage radios on display by Steve N8WL, John W8NM and John Black WD8D.

          - Fred NL7CF may have boy scouts attend.

          - Traffic Handling and ARES tables will be combined.

          - W8TNX call sign will be used for the stations.  Planning to run 20m and 40m. 

          - Planning to monitor W8WRP 146.880- repeater for 2m FM contacts and general info/talk-in.

 

      B. Johnny Clem special event station (Bob NR8U).

          - Bob NR8U reported that the special event is on track.

 

      C. End of August – Ohio QSO Party

    

8.  New business  

 

A.  Field Day Results – presented by Kevin KD8DNO.  Submitted to Mark K8MTR for addition to the website.

  

      B. ARES Update (Steve N8WL).

         - Steve N8WL reported a disaster drill will be held on 8/25/07 approx 08:00 – 14:00;  Will include Licking, Fairfield and Perry counties.

 

      C. Proposed Joint COOKEN – NARA cookout/fellowship for 2nd Saturday of September – 12:00 – 16:00.  More discussion to follow.

 

9.  Announcements

        A. Cleveland Independence Hamfest September 23, 2007.
